The ITU Social Innovation Center was established on April 21, 2019, as an interdisciplinary research and application platform with the goal of developing innovative, sustainable, and scalable solutions to societal challenges.
The Center aims to create an interactive ecosystem between knowledge production and implementation by acting as a bridge between academia, the public sector, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations.
Its core activities include conducting scientific research in the fields of social innovation, sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, and social impact; coordinating and sharing research through fieldwork, pilot projects, and collaborations; and designing training programs, workshops, and mentorship processes for stakeholders such as students and entrepreneurs.
The Center specifically aims to create a tangible impact in areas such as disadvantaged groups, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and inclusive development.
