ITU Social Innovation Center (SİM) was established on April 21, 2019, to serve as an interdisciplinary application and research platform aiming to develop innovative, sustainable, and scalable solutions for social problems.

The Center aims to create an interactive ecosystem between production of knowledge and practice by building bridges among academia, public sector, private sector, and non-governmental organizations.

Its main activities include conducting scientific studies, coordinating and sharing research through field studies or pilot applications and collaborations, and designing training programs, workshops, and mentorship processes for students, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders in the fields of social innovation, sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, and social impact.

The Center specifically aims to create a tangible impact in areas such as disadvantaged groups, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and inclusive development.
